This role will be responsible for:

  • Installation, configuration upgrading, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and security of databases.
  • Apply the security patches for Oracle and MS-SQL Databases.
  •  Responsible for working closely with business aligned teams to perform day-to-day database operational tasks including managing incidents, plan and execute changes, manage user requests.
  • Identify automation opportunities and take ownership to drive the automation solutions.
  • Will work closely with the user community and work towards adoption of cloud-based technologies.

IT Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Production, Non-Prod, & DR (standby) Oracle databases
  • Manage database back up, restore, recovery, update statistics, database maintenance plan
  • Query optimization and performance tuning
  • Respond and troubleshoot database related problems reported by customers.
  • Automate the routine tasks.
  • Database software installation, database server builds, applying patches, upgrading, configuring, troubleshooting.
  • Unix scripting
  • Provide Rotational On-Call support.
  • Preparing knowledge articles and sharing with the team
  • Strong communication and management skills and expertise in Onsite/Offshore team coordination

Experience & Qualifications

  • 4 years’ experience administering Oracle database versions 10g, 11g, 12c, 18c, & 19c on Solaris systems.
  • Experience in database security patches
  • Experience in managing Oracle high availability solutions (RAC, Data Guard, Multi-tenant)
  • Experience in database maintenance activities Oracle RMAN backups, restores.
  • Must have basic experience writing and optimizing SQL and PL/SQL
  • Must have basic experience writing Linux shell scripts for maintenance and automation purposes.
  • Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization of database environments
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control & Cloud Control
  • Oracle OCP or OCM certification(s) is a plus.
  • Expert level knowledge: General Rdbms, Database tuning, SQL tuning, Database Statistics, Database upgrades, Database Installation, Configuration and Patching including RAC
  • Working knowledge Data Replication, Database Security, Encryption, Compression and Data Masking/Redaction
  • Must be flexible in working hours in line with project deadlines. Rotational Weekend support.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple and concurrent tasks.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • At least 2 years experience as SQL Server DBA.
